Head of the General Administration Office Franjo Zdravcevic
said that UNTAES had conformed to the requests of local Serbs that
the Office for issuing documents be transferred from the centre of
Beli Manastir to the offices of a company which had no working
conditions and security had been entrusted to the transitional
police which consisted mainly of Serbs.
Serbs requested this from UNTAES after October 10 when they
protested against the work of the Office and its location and
against the military protection of Croatian employees, asking that
their protection was the task of the transitional police.
