SARAJEVO, Oct 23 (Hina) - A French soldier serving with the NATO-
led peace Implementation Force (IFOR) in Bosnia-Herzegovina was
killed in a traffic accident outside the Serb stronghold of Pale on
Wednesday, an IFOR spokesman said in Sarajevo.
An IFOR truck with three soldiers ran off the road into a
ravine about 30 metres deep, resulting in the death of one soldier,
spokesman Bratt Boudreau told a news conference. The two others
sustained serious injuries and were taken to an IFOR hospital.
The French soldier was the 48th victim among IFOR troops to
have been killed in Bosnia-Herzegovina since the beginning of their
mission in December 1995.
