ZAGREB, Oct 18 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa on
Friday received the head of the Office of the Federal Republic of
Yugoslavia in Croatia, Veljko Knezevic, at Knezevic's request.
After the meeting behind closed doors, Matesa said that
Croatia and FRY shared the view that the "effect of the Agreement
on Normalization of Relations, as a historical act, is undoubtedly
positive so far". #L#
"We agreed that there was no reason to postpone the
establishment of railway traffic," Matesa said, adding that the
problem needed to be resolved as soon as possible on the level of
railway companies of both countries.
"We also discussed possible obstacles that still exist as
regards the opening of air traffic and economic cooperation, which
would be based on both countries' interests," Matesa said.
Knezevic said the talks also focused on economic cooperation
between FRY and Croatia which was inevitable and to the interests
of both countries, adding that it many inducements and contacts
were expected to that extent.
Both countries had to sign some laws and regulations to ensure
an undisturbed economic cooperation between the two countries,
Knezevic said.
