ZAGREB, 15 Oct (Hina) - The Croatian business magazine 'Privredni vjesnik' and the Payment Operations Office issued a specialized publication entitled '400 Major Croatian Companies'. The companies are ranked according to their total
income. The 400 companies make 49,5% of the total income in economy. They own 66% of the capital and employ 44% of the total number of employees.

vjesnik' and the Payment Operations Office issued a specialized
publication entitled '400 Major Croatian Companies'. The companies
are ranked according to their total income. The 400 companies make
49,5% of the total income in economy. They own 66% of the capital
and employ 44% of the total number of employees. #L#
The first five companies, according to the total income in
1995, are the Croatian Oil Company (INA), Croatian Power Industry
(HEP), Croatian Post and Telecommunications (HPT), Croatian
Railways and the pharmaceutical company PLIVA.
The largest income in 1995 was realized by HPT, which is
followed by PLIVA, Tobacco Industry Rovinj and Ericsson Nikola
Tesla.
According to some data, small companies were achieving better
results than medium-sized and large companies, the head of the
Payment Operations Office, Bogomil Cota, said, adding that private
and mixed companies were far more successful that state-owned
companies.
