ZAGREB, Oct 14 (Hina) - The six-party opposition alliance said in a
statement on Monday that its members of the Zagreb City Assembly
and the Zagreb County Assembly would freeze their activities during
the next 30 days.
The alliance, which has a majority in the two assemblies,
demanded that the Croatian Parliament discuss the government crisis
in the capital and find adequate legal solutions whereby the powers
of the mayor and the head of the county would be separated.
The statement was signed by presidents Vlado Gotovac of the
Social Liberal Party, Ivica Racan of the Social Democratic Party,
Radimir Cacic of the People's Party, Zlatko Tomcic of the Peasant
Party, Stjepan Mesic of the Independent Democrats, and Silvije
Degen of the Social Democratic Action.
