Hercegovina-Neretva Canton will take over authority from the

This decision was confirmed at today's meeting of the
Federation Interior Minister Avdo Hebib, Hebib's deputy Jozo
Leutar, the Hercegovina-Neretva Canton Interior Minister Valentin
Coric, municipal and cantonal officials, as well as Western
European police members and International Police Task Force (IPTF)
representatives.
The Western European police mandate expires after more than
two years. Police authority will be handed over to the Hercegovina-
Neretva Canton Interior Ministry, which was set up after September
elections.
During the next month, joint police forces will start
performing their duties in the Hercegovina-Neretva Canton, the
Hercegovina-Neretva Canton Interior Minister Coric said.
New police duties were discussed today also by Mostar Mayor
Ivan Prskalo and Deputy Mayor Safet Orucevic and European Union
special representative in Mostar, Sir Martin Garrod.
