MOSTAR, Oct 1 (Hina) - A Bosnian Croat opposition deputy was shot
in his western Mostar home on Monday night, police said on Tuesday.
Jole Musa was shot in the flank when unknown assailants opened
automatic rifle fire at his living room at 11 p.m. His wife
sustained a slight burn on the left arm, the Mostar police said in
a statement.
Musa was a top candidate of the five-party Joint List for
Bosnia-Herzegovina at local elections in June. He was recently
elected to the Bosnian Federation Parliament.
Musa was the target of a similar attack last Saturday, when an
explosive device was thrown into his apartment, shattering the
windows.
The spokesman for the office of the international peace
coordinator Carl Bildt strongly condemned the attack at a press
conference in Sarajevo on Tuesday.
Spokesman Micheal McLay described the attack as an attempt at
undermining the reconciliation process in Bosnia.
The EU special envoy to Mostar, Martin Garrod, expressed grave
concern about the attack and its possible consequences for the
process of normalisation in Mostar. Garrod is currently in
Luxembourg attending a session of the EU Council of Ministers.
