SARAJEVO, Sept 25 (Hina) - Representatives of the NATO-led Peace
Implementation Force and the international police on Wednesday said
in Sarajevo that the situation in the eastern Bosnian village of
Jusici was peaceful and that negotiations continued so as to solve
a crisis caused by the return of refugees.
Last weekend about 100 displaced Bosniaks-Muslims returned to
Jusici which is in the inter-entity separation zone, but in the
area of the Serb entity.
The international police received guarantees from local Serb
authorities that no attempts would be made to enter the village in
the following 48 hours.
The Bosniak-Muslim returnees were mainly repairing their
houses and bringing construction material, UN spokesman Aleksandar
Ivanko said, adding that Russian parachutists were still observing
all entrances to the village.
UNHCR is registering all Jusici inhabitants who want to return
to their village. Their return should be officially granted by Serb
authorities on the basis of a special request in two weeks, while
all other similar activities in the future should be performed on
the basis of plans agreed on by the governments of the Bosnian
Federation and Republika Srpska.
Serb representative at the Presidency of BH Momcilo Krajisnik
last evening told Pale TV that any return of refugees was unreal.
He thinks that instead of organizing the return of refugees,
the three sides in BH should organize the exchange of their
property.
