SARAJEVO, Sept 19 (Hina) - The political stability in Bosnia-
Herzegovina was the precondition for the continuation of the
reconstruction financed by the international community, head of the
World Bank Office in BH Rory O'Sullivan told reporters in Sarajevo
on Thursday.
Political stability referred to the establishment of new joint
authorities and an efficient central government, which was the only
way to implement reconstruction programmes and ensure foreign
investments, O'Sullivan said.
He confirmed that by August, USD 558 million had been invested
in BH reconstruction programmes, and that the remaining 1.8
billion, promised at the first donors' conference of western
countries in Brussels, would soon be granted too.
USD 500 million would certainly be granted by the end of the
year, while a new donors' conference, to discuss the financing of
new projects, could be expected in January 1997, O'Sullivan said.
