VUKOVA, Sept 10 (Hina) - A Croatian Parliament delegation headed by Vice-Premier Vladimir Seks on Tuesday held talks in Vukovar with Serb representatives from areas administered by UNTAES, during which UN Transitional Administrator General Jacques Klein was present. The delegation arrived in Vukovar on Tuesday morning. #L# This was a historic event, Klein said after the meeting, adding the a dialogue was most important. He stressed that he had told both sides that their people expected them to do everything to boost the process of peaceful reintegration. This was the goal of the meeting, Klein said, adding that it had been reached. Klein expressed hope that the new amnesty law, which is expected to be adopted soon, would relieve the worries of most of the people in this area. "I consider the meeting very important, because it is the first, but not historic as General Klein described it," Seks said. "It is clear to everyone that this area is Croatia's integral territory. We need to create trust, exchange views and dissolve all traumas which have accumulated during the years," he said. After the Parliament ratifies the Agreement on Normalization of Relations between Croatia and Yugoslavia, all open questions have to be resolved at following meetings. This would enable a peaceful reintegration of the area, the maximal protection of people and the rights of national minorities, Seks said. Serb representative Vojislav Stanimirovic described the meeting as very useful. The meeting had clearly asserted that by the mutual recognition of Croatia and Yugoslavia this area was an integral part of Croatia, he said. "We were told that the amnesty law would be passed and that the issue of refugees would be resolved successively," Stanimirovic said. He added that the issue of organization of municipalities had to be resolved, and that the issue would be discussed at the highest level. (hina) lm jn 101558 MET sep 96
