Tudjman commended Zoric and the Office for Refugees and
Displaced persons on their work and successful implementation of
elections of Bosnian refugees in Croatia.
Zoric, who was the government's coordinator for the
implementation of the elections, informed Tudjman about the process
of the elections which took place last Saturday and Sunday, at
which there was a turnout of 80% of registered voters.
Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE)
representatives had said that, of all the countries where refugees
were accommodated, the Bosnian elections which had taken place in
Croatia had been the best organized, Zoric said, adding that some
irregularities had been registered, for which Croatian
representatives were not responsible.
Zoric said that questionnaires about the disposition of voters
which had been published in certain newspapers were tendentious and
did not agree with the truth.
Beside President Tudjman, present at the meeting were Croatian
President's Chief-of-Staff Ivo Sanader, Presidential advisors for
home issues Ivic Pasalic, and legal issues Smiljko Sokol.
