BANJA LUKA, Sept 3 (Hina) - UN High Commission for refugees (UNHCR) was very concerned with the status of the remainder of Moslems in Vrbanja near Banja Luka, UNHCR spokesman mans Nyberg said on Tuesday, adding that 11 Moslems who had
tried to return to their homes had been exiled from Vrbanja.
BANJA LUKA, Sept 3 (Hina) - UN High Commission for refugees (UNHCR)
was very concerned with the status of the remainder of Moslems in
Vrbanja near Banja Luka, UNHCR spokesman mans Nyberg said on
Tuesday, adding that 11 Moslems who had tried to return to their
homes had been exiled from Vrbanja. #L#
These people would be temporarily accommodated in the refugee
camp in Gasinci in Croatia, and then the UNHCR would organize their
depart for third countries, Nyberg said.
Before the war, exclusively Moslems (4,000) lived in Vrbanja,
out of which only about a hundred remained, according to some
estimates.
Those that remained are people mostly from mixed marriages or
those who were in the Serb army. Serbs from other parts in Bosnia
settled this great Moslem village.
