BUDAPEST, Aug 31 (Hina) - Hungarian Premier Gyula Horn and Croatian
Education and Sports Minister Ljilja Vokic on Friday opened the new
building of the Croatian Elementary School, High School and Pupils'
Hostel in Budapest.
The building of this very modern school was financed by the
Hungarian government, and it will be attended by 350 Croat pupils
per year from all over Hungary.
In a meeting with high representatives of the Croatian and
Hungarian governments and the Croat minority in Hungary, Horn
praised the good cooperation between the two countries in
protecting ethnic minorities.
Vokic said that other countries should follow Hungary's
example in the protection of the minorities' rights and announced
that Croatia would undertake necessary measures for Hungarians
living in Osijek, eastern Croatia, to get a similar modern school.
