BUDAPEST, Aug 29 (Hina) - An agreement on the construction of a
400-kilowatt transmission line between Hevitz in Hungary and the
Zerjavinec substation in Croatia was signed in Budapest on
Thursday.
The agreement will form the bases for electric power
connection between the two countries on the highest voltage level.
After the signing of the agreement, the leading man of the
Hungarian electric power industry, Gjula Lengyel, pointed out the
ever improving economic cooperation between Croatia and Hungary, as
today's agreement proved.
Managing Director of the Croatian Electric Power Industry
Damir Begovic said that the transmission line would be the first
connection of this kind between Croatia and the countries of
central and eastern Europe.
Begovic said that the transmission line should be completed by
the middle of 1999, adding that the cost of the construction,
including the construction of the Zerjavinec substation, near
Zagreb, amounted to some 120 million German marks for the Croatian
side.
