SNS president Milan Djukic said that the Croatian authorities
were currently conducting a constructive policy in the resolution
of the crises in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, but they had still
not given up their aim - 'an integral Croatia with as few Serbs as
possible'. The best confirmation of his statement, Djukic said, was
the granting of amnesty only to the Serbs from eastern Slavonia but
not to those from western Slavonia and Knin, 'although they all
shared the same political option and did the same things against
the Republic of Croatia'.
The peaceful reintegration of the still occupied Croatian
areas would not be possible without a law on general amnesty and
the return of all resettled persons.
Djukic said that statements by the head of the Office for
Displaced Persons and Refugees, Damir Zoric, on the return of some
10,000 Croatian Serb refugees were incorrect. Some 5,000 to 6,000
Serb refugees returned, but mainly to the cities. Not one of them
had returned to the former 'krajina', Djukic said.
