VITEZ, 26 July (Hina) - After last night's blowing-up of the
Catholic Church of St Anthony in Bugojno, Bosnian Croat authorities
in the Central-Bosnian Canton on Friday issued a statement on the
attack. #L#
After they had been informed about the attack, 'Croat
officials visited the site, the damaged church and parish office in
Bugojno, although the local Muslim police tried to prevent them'.
'After the forceful interruption of a mass in Bistrica near
Uskoplje by the Bosnian army members, and the setting afire of a
church in Humac, Bugojno municipality, last night's terrorist
attack is yet another among numerous attacks on Croat religious
buildings in the last two months', the statement said.
Bosnian Croat officials demanded an explanation from Muslim
officials in the Central-Bosnian Canton. The Croats also demanded
that legal measures be taken and legal proceedings be started
against the perpetrators and called on Croat refugees from Bugojno
municipality to return to their homes and 'help other Croats in
central Bosnia win their rights'.
