BUGOJNO, 2 July (Hina) - A trilateral good-will mission headed by
Ivica Tomic and Darinko Bago, Croatian ambassadors to Turkey and
BH, Hajrudin Somun and Kasim Trnka, BH ambassadors to Turkey and
Croatia and Sukru Tufan and Daryal Batibaj, Turkish ambassadors
to BH and Croatia visited Bugojno and Jajce (SE Bosnia) Tuesday.
The ambassadors, who were joined in Bugojno by Andre Herdin,
advisor for refugees at the Office of High Representative for BH,
discussed with Croat and Muslim representatives implementation of
the Dayton accords and a pilot project for the return of Croat
refugees to Bugojno.
Ivan Miletic, president of the Bugojno municipal committee
and Stjepan Vukadin, president of a joint committee for the
return of Croat refugees, said the Dayton accords were not being
implemented in Bugojno, which has seen the return of only 23
Croat families, out of 200 that were due to return according to
the Accords.
Miletic stressed return of the Croats has been hampered by
local Muslim authorities, headed by Đevad Mlaćo, president of
"the war time presidency." Stjepan Vukadin underscored property
of Croat refuges in Bugojno is being violated, as well as
property and human rights of Croats who remained in the town.
Turkish ambassador Batibaj said the mission has established
beyond any doubt that only a token number of Croat families has
returned to Bugojno.
On the other hand, in Jajce president of the municipal
branch of the Party of Democratic Action told the mission the
pilot project for the return of refugees had been almost
completed. Mr. Enver Sabic stressed local Croats and Muslims were
willing to overcome certain difficulties, especially concerning
legalization of bodies of transitional government, in accordance
with the BH Federation constitution and the ethnic composition of
the town from 1991.
