Any party which nominated, chose or kept in office any person
indicted by the International Tribunal in The Hague would not be
allowed to put up its candidate for Bosnian elections in September,
Frowick told a news conference in Sarajevo.
Aleksa Buha, called foreign minister of the Serb entity in
Pale, told a Meeting of Support for Karadzic and Mladic in Trebinje
that not allowing the Serb Democratic Party (SDS) to participate in
the elections would mean not holding the elections.
Frowick refuted such threats.
The general elections in Bosnia-Herzegovina would be held on
14 September as had been planned, Frowick said.
He warned that a lot should not be expected from this year's
elections.
They would be important because they would ensure the
establishment of new Bosnian joint institutions, but a significant
step forward should be hoped for after the 1998 elections, Frowick
said.
