WARSAW, July 10 (Hina) - A delegation of Croatian government
officials and business people, headed by Prime Minister Zlatko
Matesa, concluded a two-day official visit to Poland on Wednesday.
The Croatian delegation on Wednesday visited the Polish
Chamber of Commerce where they met its president Andrzey Arendarski
and about 50 business people for talks on economic cooperation
between the two countries.
Polish business people showed interest in cooperation in the
areas of agriculture, shipbuilding, energy, the pharmaceutical
industry and the tourist trade.
Croatian Economy Minister Davor Stern held separate talks with
leaders of the Polish Ministry for Foreign Trade.
Assistant Privatization Minister Damir Ostovic and
representatives of the Pliva pharmaceutical company, the Podravka
food-processing company and the Croatian Shipbuilding company
conferred with officials of the Polish Privatization Ministry.
Croatian delegates said that Podravka was thinking of
establishing a plant in Poland and that Pliva was interested in
buying shares of Polish pharmaceutical companies.
Croatian Assistant Foreign Minister Hido Biscevic met for
talks with Wojciech Lamentowicz, an assistant minister at the
office of the Polish president.
Biscevic repeated an invitation from Croatian President Franjo
Tudjman for Polish Predident Alexander Kvasniewski to visit
Croatia.
