ZAGREB, July 9 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa left
for Warsaw on Tuesday to promote economic cooperation with Poland
and discuss Polish support for Croatia's bid to enter the Central
European Free Trade Agreement.
"I think the economic cooperation is below the level that both
Poland and Croatia would consider satisfactory," Matesa told
reporters at Zagreb airport.
"We are interested in intensifying talks on Croatia's
admission to CEFTA, the creation of a free trade zone with Poland
and certain segments of the economy. We are particularly interested
in cooperation in the pharmaceutical and food industries and the
tourist trade," he added.
Matesa was accompanied by Economy Minister Davor Stern,
Privatization Minister Ivan Penic, Assistant Foreign Minister
Hidajet Biscevic, Chamber of Commerce president Nadan Vidosevic and
business people.
During a two-day visit, the Croatian delegation was
scheduled to meet Polish Prime Minister Wlodzimierz Cimoszewicz,
Parliament and Chamber of Commerce officials and business people.
