POSUSJE, 6 July (Hina) - The outgoing chief commander of the Implementation Force (IFOR) in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Admiral Leighton Smith, on Saturday paid a visit to the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) headquarters in Posusje, where he
was received by the HVO Chief-Of-Staff, Lieutenant General Zivko Budimir.
POSUSJE, 6 July (Hina) - The outgoing chief commander of the
Implementation Force (IFOR) in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Admiral Leighton
Smith, on Saturday paid a visit to the Croatian Defence Council
(HVO) headquarters in Posusje, where he was received by the HVO
Chief-Of-Staff, Lieutenant General Zivko Budimir. #L#
Admiral Smith said he was leaving Bosnia-Herzegovina on 29
July, after which his duties would be taken over by Admiral Lopez.
The transfer of duties will take place on 31 July in Naples.
Smith and Budimir described the cooperation between IFOR and
HVO as excellent. Lieutenant General Budimir said that most tasks
from the military part of the peace agreement had been carried out
during Admiral Smith's mandate, including the separation of
military forces and the withdrawal of soldiers and heavy weapons.
