CROATIAN INTERIOR MINISTER VISITS SERB-OCCUPIED VUKOVAR

ZAGREB, June 19 (Hina) - Croatia's Interior Minister Ivan Jarnjak on Wednesday visited the Serb-occupied eastern town of Vukovar where he attended a working meeting with the UN Transitional Administrator for Eastern Slavonia, Baranja and Western Srijem, General Jacques Klein. In an interview with Croatian Television, Jarnjak said that he had also met representatives of the local Serb police who informed him about criminal offences committed in the area. We would send them copies of all Croatian laws regulating police work, including copies of the Constitution, the internal affair law and the criminal code, so they could study them, he said. Jarnjak announced that Croatian working groups for administrative issues, documents and registration of vehicles and weapons would travel to Vukovar next week for further talks. He said that joint Croatian and Serb police patrols were expected to start work as of July 1. (hina) vm 192136 MET jun 96
