Jarnjak stressed the importance of his visit to the Chicago
police where he had been informed about the work of the most modern
police centre.
He also informed reporters about the talks with the director
of FBI, with whom he had agreed on further cooperation in the
education of Croatian police officers in the struggle against drug
trade, organized crime, international terrorism and in the exchange
of information of importance to both sides.
The FBI director had commended the educational results of
Croatian police officers at the Police Academy in Zagreb, as well
as those of Croatian and Serb police officers in Budapest, Jarnjak
said.
He added that he had held talks with U.S. government
representatives about the peaceful reintegration of the Croatian
Danubian area.
He also informed reporters that he had talked to Croatians
living in the U.S. and had called them to return to Croatia, now a
free and safe country.
