SARAJEVO, 16 June (Hina) - After it was published that the

attacked in Cazin yesterday, while a meeting of his party in Cazin

(SDA) today issued a statement, in which it sharply condemned the

'SDA is a democratic party which in its political practice has
never resorted to violence nor does it have the intention of using
violence...We would like to say to the public and our voters that
we will abide by our basic stance in the forthcoming elections as
well', the statement said.
The executive commission of the Party For Bosnia, however, on
Sunday issued a statement saying that it was not only Silajdzic
that had been attacked during the visit to Cazin. Silajdzic's body
guard and Josip Pejakovic, a member of the party's leadership, were
also wounded. The incident had been instigated by several
statements by SDA officials, the statement said. 'A political
current which wants to use the victims and suffering of people with
the aim of imposing itself as absolute authority and preventing
democratic processes in Bosnia, is standing behind this incident',
the statement said, calling on the Organisation for Security and
Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and diplomatic offices in Sarajevo to
take measures which would secure a democratic atmosphere for the
forthcoming elections.
