ZAGREB, Jun 7 (Hina) - President of the European Commission,
Jacques Santer, and chairman of the EU Committee of Ministers,
Italy's Lamberto Dini, arrived in Zagreb on Friday afternoon.
During their brief stay in Croatia, Santer and Dini are
expected to meet President Franjo Tudjman.
The two officials have already visited Sarajevo. They are yet
to visit Belgrade and Skopje, while the scheduled visit to Albania
has been postponed.
The visit is aimed at informing the governments of southern-
European countries of the European Union's plans for further
cooperation, the office of the European Commission's special envoy
to Croatia, Fulvio Paolini, said today in a statement.
The European Union is planning, under certain conditions, to
strengthen political stability and cooperation in the region
through bilateral agreements, financial and technical assistance,
the statement said.
