A year after the reconstruction of eastern Slavonia began, the
organized part of it was completed and there was only some minor
work left, said Croatian Development and Reconstruction Minister,
Jure Radic.
He said that 2,517 almost wholly destroyed houses in 60
villages of eastern Slavonia and 160 flats had been reconstructed.
8,770 different loans had been given out, thus providing care for
11,400 families through direct reconstruction or loans.
The final Bill on the Transformation of the Zagreb Fair
proposes that 60 per cent of the basic capital be given to the
state, and 40 per cent to the City of Zagreb.
The government also directed to the parliament a Bill on
Croatia's Postal Services and Telecommunications which proposes a
separation of the postal services from the telecommunications.
Telecommunications were profitable and could develop separately,
whereas postal services were a separate economic subject which
should be treated as such, said Croatian Minister of Maritime
Affairs, Transport and Communications, Zeljko Luzavec.
The government also supported a Report on the Development of
Health Service from 1990 to 1995.
