ZAGREB, 4 June (Hina) - The Count House of the Croatian parliament
closed its business today by turning down a bill of an amendment to
a sales tax, proposed by the SDP.
The bill was presented by MP Zeljka Antunovic, who said
printing industry is an economic activity and not a service. Deputy
Finance Minister Mijo Jukic countered this view by saying that the
government decided to turn down the bill because it considers
printing both an economic activity and a service.
The majority of the House voted in favour of the government's
motion for the winding up of court martials. According to Deputy
Justice Minister Ivan Lovric, the Government believes the courts
martials have already served their purpose and are not needed any
more in the Croatian judicial system.
