The Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Basic
Freedoms is the most famous among several hundred conventions
passed by the Council of Europe so far and it represents a sort of
charter of the Council.
Croatia too will have to sign the Convention once it is
admitted into the Council of Europe.
At the seminar special attention was paid to articles on the
right to freedom and personal safety, the respect of private and
family life, correspondence and the right to free speech.
