BUS LINE BETWEEN BANJA LUKA AND ZENICA RE-ESTABLISHED

SARAJEVO, June 5 (Hina) - A regular bus line between Banja Luka (Serb entity) and Zenica (Bosnian Federation) was on Wednesday established, under the patronage of the UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR). The bus connection was established to encourage refugees and displaced persons to start returning to their homes. UNHCR spokesman in Sarajevo Kris Janowski said that a bus driven by a Danish driver had run from Banja Luka to Zenica and back without any obstacles or delay. There had been very few passengers, only five, but the UNHCR were sure that their number would increase, Janowski said.
#L# He also announced that Danish bus drivers would most probably drive on a line connecting Sarajevo and Serb-held Lukavica because the Serb police had on Tuesday threatened the Moslem who had been driving a UNHCR bus. He again called the government of Bosnia-Herzegovina to prevent the almost regular robberies and abuse of the Serb populace which had remained in the Sarajevo suburbs after their integration into the Federation. It was about time that something be done if equalizing with the other side which was responsible for the mass exile and abuse during the war was to be avoided, Janowski said. Citing the latest case of eviction of a three-member family from an apartment in Grbavica when the father and son had been beaten in front of a municipal inspector, Janowski warned that the biggest cause of such cases was a lack of housing, adding that in resolving the issue, laws had to be abided by and violence prevented.
