Croatia expected a large development process and numerous
possibilities for partnership and cooperation, Radic stressed.
Galland said that French businessmen wanted to invest into
Croatia and cooperate with Croatian companies.
The French delegation was also received by the President of
the Croatian Chambers of Commerce, Nadan Vidosevic.
The process of reorganization of large economic systems was
under way as well as the establishment of new cooperative
relations, Vidosevic said.
'Our aim is to become a business partner of Croatia' the
French Finance and Foreign Trade Minister said.
On behalf of the French Association of Employers, Claude
Coppin expressed readiness of French small and medium-sized
companies to participate in the reconstruction of Croatia.
Minister Galland also paid a working visit to the Croatian
National Bank.
Finance Minister Bozo Prka presented his guest with a booklet
presenting business opportunities in Croatia. Thanking for the
present, Minister Galland said that it would facilitate access of
French companies to the Croatian market.
'Croatia intends to borrow some 400 million dollars which will
secure the financing of its private sector on the international
market', Prka said.
The most important development project in Croatia was the
construction of roads, Transport Minister Zeljko Luzavec said
during talks with Minister Galland. Croatia would also build small
airports on the islands of Vis, Korcula and Hvar, Luzavec said,
adding that except for the current reconstruction of Zadar airport,
his ministry also planned the reconstruction of Split and Zagreb
airports. During this month, the most modern flight control
equipment would be installed at Dubrovnik airport, Luzavec added.
