ZAGREB, June 3 (Hina) - Unofficial results of an advisory
referendum in Zagreb County showed that 51.37 per cent of the
vote was in favour of the City of Zagreb remaining part of Zagreb
County, the government referendum commission said on Monday.
The commission said that results from 99.56 per cent of
polling stations had been processed and that 19.20 per cent of
the electorate participated in the Sunday vote.
It said that 66.18 per cent of Zagreb City residents who had
turned out for the vote wanted the City to form a separate
territorial and administrative unit while 81.16 per cent of the
vote in the so-called Zagreb belt was in favour of the City
remaining within the County.
The voter turnout in Zagreb City was 15.75 per cent while in
the Zagreb belt it was 30.66 per cent.
