MOSTAR, June 1 (Hina) - According to Friday's decision of the
Western Mostar Police, persons travelling on the Mostar road
Bulevar are to do so on their own responsibility, head of the West
Mostar police administration Zeljko Jukic told the Herzeg-Bosnian
radio, Bosnian Croat news agency Habena reported.
The decision had been reached after Moslems blocked Bulevar
twice on Friday, Jukic said. #L#
Some Moslem citizens stopped several vehicles with license
plates of the Croat Republic of Herzeg-Bosnia on Friday around
14.00 hours. They physically abused the drivers and stole their
belongings.
Around 9.00 pm, Moslems threw rocks at five vehicles of the
Croat Republic of Herzeg-Bosnia.
Police patrols consisting of Moslem, European and Croat
officers had arrived at the scene, but had not removed the
perpetrators off the road, nor had they done anything to prevent
the road block, Jukic said.
Police officers from the western part of Mostar could not
protect Croat citizens, either, because orders came from the
European police, so the western Mostar police had decided that
travelling on the Bulevar should be done on one's own
responsibility, Jukic said.
