Webster further said that the reconstruction would take time
because railway lines suffered severe damage and because minefields
had to be removed. Only 20% of Bosnia's 1020-km-long railway lines
are currently in use.
The reopening of the railway line from Ploce to Sarajevo to
Vinkovci and further to Hungary was of utmost importance because it
would include Bosnia in international traffic, Webster said.
This would be followed by the reconstruction of the railway
line from Bosanski Novi (north-eastern Bosnia) to Banja Luka and to
Doboj as well as of the railway line which runs from Bosanski Novi
to Bihac and Split along the river Una.
