Zagreb, 28 May (Hina) - Tonight Zagreb saw the promotion of a book
by Dr. Franjo Tudjman titled "Historic Destiny of Peoples".
On the behalf of the publisher, Skolska knjiga, the audience
was welcomed by General Manager Andjelko Mijatovic. The book was
presented by Dubravko Jelcic and Nedjelko Mihanovic, members of the
Croatian Academy of Arts and Science, and by Andjelko Mijatovic.
Historic Destiny of Peoples consists of Dr. Tudjman's texts on
ethnic problems in Europe and or outside of it, written since the
1960-ies. The book contains texts on important historic issues and
the Croatians' drive for independence since the 1850-ies.
Academy member Dubravko Jelcic pointed to Tudjman's
"commitment to small peoples". Dr. Tudjman "has creatively
interpreted the politics of past periods in order to use it in the
future," said Dr. Jelcic.
Dr. Nedjeljko Mihanovic, who wrote a foreword to the book,
said Dr. Tudjman thoroughly analyzed problems and theories about
ethnic and political emancipation of small peoples at the time when
multiethnic countries were going thorough decadence and
disintegration.
Presentation of the book was attended by a large number of
state officials, the diplomatic corps, representatives of religious
communities, artists and public institutions.
