Presenting the credentials, the President expressed his
conviction that Ambassador Dezelic would perform his duties to the
satisfaction and well-being of the Croatian homeland.
Thanking President Tudjman for his trust, Dezelic said that he
would perform his duties in a manner which would be worthy of the
President's trust and that of his homeland.
During talks after the presentation of credentials, the
President said that Croatia should broaden cultural and economic
relations with Slovakia, especially because of the historical
closeness and similarity of languages, stressing the role of the
Slovak-born Borislav Sulek in Croatian culture.
Present at the ceremony were the President's Chief-of-Staff,
Ivo Sanader, and the President's assistant for foreign affairs,
Zeljko Matic, the statement said.
