Important novelties are to be introduced which, according to
the world experience and research contributed to traffic safety, as
is reducing the speed limit 10 kilometres per hour, so the speed
limit in populated areas will be 50 km/h, on fast lanes it will be
80 km/h and on highways 120.
Drivers will have to drive with their headlights on,
regardless of the clarity of vision, and a penalty point system
will be introduced.
The penal points are to be registered via computer. When a
person collects five penal points he is called to attend a lecture
and showing of films on the consequences of ignorance and not
respecting traffic regulations.
After the driver commits traffic violations after this, his
driver's license is taken away and he has to take a test on traffic
regulations.
The Act is also to envisage stricter fines.
The Act is to take effect on July 1.
