PRISTINA, May 3 (Hina) - UN human rights rapporteur Elizabeth Rehn
on Friday ended a two-day visit to Serbia's southern province of
Kosovo.
On the second day of her visit, Rehn met for talks in the
provincial capital Pristina with local Serb authorities.
She stressed the need for problems between the Serbs and the
majority ethnic Albanian population to be solved through dialogue.
Rehn expressed regrets and concern over recent tragic
incidents, hoping that the situation would not escalate. She called
for a greater international presence in the province.
After the visit to Kosovo, the UN envoy travelled to Sandzak,
a region with a large Moslem community adjacent to Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
