ZAGREB, May 3 (Hina) - Croatian police and customs officers would
be deployed at the Croatian-Yugoslav border immediately after the
reopening of the Zagreb-Belgrade highway next Tuesday, Croatian
Foreign Minister Mate Granic said on Friday.
"Croatian police and customs officers will go there as soon as
the road is reopened - there will be a roadpost clearly indicating
'Border Crossing'," Granic said after meeting the First Assistant
Foreing Minister of the Russian Federation, Igor Ivanov.
Even though Croatian police would be posted at the border, the
UN-controlled part of eastern Slavonia would still be policed by
UNTAES, Granic said.
The Temporary Administrator of Eastern Slavonia, Baranja and
Western Srijem, Gen. Jacques Klein, met Minister Granic this
morning.
