WASHINGTON, April 25 (Hina) - A Croatian delegation composed of Vice-Premier Borislav Skegro, Finance Minister Bozo Prka, the governor of the Croatian Peoples' Bank, Marko Skreb, and his deputy Zdravko Rogic, on Wednesday held talks
with the executive manager of the International Monetary Fund, Michael Camdessus.
WASHINGTON, April 25 (Hina) - A Croatian delegation composed of
Vice-Premier Borislav Skegro, Finance Minister Bozo Prka, the
governor of the Croatian Peoples' Bank, Marko Skreb, and his deputy
Zdravko Rogic, on Wednesday held talks with the executive manager
of the International Monetary Fund, Michael Camdessus. #L#
During the last few days, the delegation participated in the
work of the Spring session of the IMF and the World Bank and held
several bilateral talks.
Agreements on three loans for Croatia were signed on Tuesday
in the World Bank. The loan of $17 million is to be used for the
development of private farming, $9,5 million for the development of
the capital market and $5 million for technical financial help in
the development of entrepreneurship and reform of the financial
sector.
During talks with World Bank officials, the Croatian
delegation discussed future loans for the financial rehabilitation
of the banking system (about $100 million) and for financing of
small and medium-scale entrepreneurship (about $15 million).
The discussion about the loans should be concluded within the
year.
The Croatian delegation held talks with representatives of the
IMF about a three-year arrangement for Croatia which would present
further incentive for foreign bankers and investors.
Prka left Washington for New York on Wednesday where he is to
continue talks with the London Club which began in London last
week.
