Tom Mitnach, a representative of the U.S. Embassy to Croatia,
said that relations between Croatia and the U.S. progressed in many
fields, from politics to economy.
He also spoke about the developement of cultural ties between
Croatia and the U.S., in which HAD played an important role.
Croatia was one of the most active countries in the exchange of
students with the U.S.
Nenad Prelog, chairman of the HAD central committee, said that
during the last year the Association had achieved the best results
on all levels of education and in various humanitarian activities.
HAD announced a symposium, "Eminent Croatian Natural
Scientists in the U.S.", to be held in Zagreb in July, and
organizing summer schools in Zagreb and Opatija.
