DISCUSSED
$ WEDNESDAY
STRASBOURG, April 22 (Hina) - Croatia's bid for membership in the
Council of Europe is likely to be discussed on Wednesday morning
and there are opinions that the discussion should be linked to
the one on the process of implementing the peace agreement in
Bosnia, the president of the Council of Europe's Parliamentary
Assembly, Leni Fischer, said in Strasbourg on Monday.
The question of admitting Croatia to Council of Europe
membership should not be mixed with problems in Bosnia, Fischer
told a press conference before the official opening of a spring
session of the Parliamentary Assembly. She added that the agenda
of the session had not been approved yet.
Serbia and Montenegro still have not applied for special
guest status and unless they do so like all other countries, they
will not be granted that status.
If they do not send in an application, it's their problem,
she added.
