MacDonald said that the most important thing at the moment was
the engagement of Canadian companies in Croatia, since they were
among the best in the world in the technology of quick house
building.
During their stay in Croatia the Canadian delegation visited
the war-destroyed areas in eastern Slavonia, Banovina and Kordun.
MacDonald said that the establishment of Croatian-Canadian
construction syndicates could help the reconstruction of destroyed
villages in less than half the time the reconstruction with usual
technology would take.
Pavletic expressed understanding for the cooperation
proposals, stressing that, in the reconstruction, Croatia needed
tested and safe construction and other methods, which would also
provide new jobs, particularly for demobilized Croatian soldiers.
