SINGAPORE, March 29 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic
on Friday held talks with Singapore officials about the
possibilities of promoting bilateral relations. #L#
Granic met his Singapore colleague, Shunmugan Jayakumar, who
had invited him to visit Singapore, and the Vice Premier, Lee Hsien
Loomg.
"Singapore has a great surplus of capital for investments and
the talks mostly focused on Singapore's investments in Croatia,"
Granic said.
The basic precondition for this was peace because Singapore
was interested in investing in only a stable and safe Croatia,
Granic said.
He announced the visit of the Croatian Economy delegation,
headed by Vice Premier Borislav Skegro to Singapore and Singapore's
participation in the Zagreb Fair.
Granic and his assistant in charge of economic issues,
Spomenka Cvek, held a lecture in the Singapore Industrialists'
Association on business possibilities in Croatia.
The Singapore business people were mostly interested in the
Croatian bank system, financial risks and the legal system because,
as one of the businessmen said, independent judiciary was a
condition for investments.
