The Tribunal indicted suspects who operated a detention camp
in the Konjic municipality (50 km south-west from Sarajevo). The
detainees had been Serbs from the Konjic area and the suspects were
indicted for serious violations of International Humanitarian Law,
including murder, torture, rape of female detainees, beatings and
inhumane treatment, the statement said.
The accused are: Zejnil Delalic (48), a former officer in the
Bosnian Army, who held authority over the Celebici camp and its
personnel; Zdravko Mucic "Pavo" (51), the commander of the camp;
Hazim Delic (32), the deputy commander of the Celebici camp; and
Esad Landzo "Zenga" (23), who was a guard at the camp.
Delalic had been apprehended on 18 March in Munich and Zdravko
Mucic the same day in Vienna. Delic and Landzo have not yet been
arrested, but assurances had been given by the Bosnian authorities
that the accused would be arrested and surrendered to the Tribunal,
the statement said.
Before filing these indictments, the International Tribunal
had previously filed indictments against 53 suspects - 46 Serbs and
