ZAGREB, March 14 (Hina) - The General Director of the Croatian oil
company INA, Andrija Kojakovic, specified Croatian conditions for
the opening of the Adriatic pipeline. In a minute on the opening of
the Adriatic pipeline towards Yugoslavia, signed on 11 March in
Zagreb between the Croatian and Yugoslav foreign ministers, Mate
Granic and Milan Milutinovic respectively, it had been agreed that
the pipeline would be opened on 28 March, in line with agreements
between INA and Jugopetrol, Kojakovic told a press conference
today, adding that 'the agreements provide first of all for the
cessation of oil extraction from Djeletovci oil fields in eastern
Slavonia'.
The agreements signed by INA representatives were in line with
the Croatian state policy, Kojakovic added.

Kojakovic further recalled that INA had signed agreements with
Jugopetrol in December last year and in January this year. It was
planned that some two to three million tons of oil could be
transported via the Adriatic pipeline as well as that INA could
sell and transport the oil. 'We will trade on the same conditions
two independent states trade, just as we trade with Austria or
Hungary', Kojakovic said.
Asked about the current situation in Djeletovci oil fields,
INA Executive Director Marijan Pejcic said that the Serb side was
still extracting oil from three fields. According to information he
had, some 10,000 tons of oil and much less natural gas were being
extracted every month from Djeletovci, Pejcic said.
'We are talking about very intensive extraction which can
easily cause damage on oil-wells', Pejcic said.
