ZAGREB, March 11 (Hina) - The head of the Croatian government commission for relations with religious communities, Jure Radic, on Monday received the Serb Orthodox Bishop for Zagreb, Ljubljana and Italy, Jovan Pavlovic. It was the
first working meeting of an Orthodox bishop with Croatian government officials since the beginning of the war in Croatia, a statement from Radic's office said.
ZAGREB, March 11 (Hina) - The head of the Croatian government
commission for relations with religious communities, Jure Radic, on
Monday received the Serb Orthodox Bishop for Zagreb, Ljubljana and
Italy, Jovan Pavlovic.
It was the first working meeting of an Orthodox bishop with
Croatian government officials since the beginning of the war in
Croatia, a statement from Radic's office said. #L#
Pavlovic pointed out necessity of resolving problems of the
Orthodox Church and its worshippers in Croatia within the framework
of Croatian institutions.
He also expressed his satisfaction with the fact that Orthodox
churches and cathedrals had suffered no serious damage during the
Croatian military operations in occupied areas.
Radic, in turn, expressed readiness to quickly resolve all
problems, in the spirit of the Croatian Constitution and full
freedom of religion.
