between Croatia and Slovakia and the agreement on further mutual

Croatian Economy Minister Davor Stern and his Slovak counterpart

The Slovak delegation visiting Croatia consists of 63
representatives from various state-owned and private companies as
well as independent entrepreneurs. The two sides had big plans as
regards the economic cooperation, Slovak Minister Ducky said. The
talks had focused on the opening of a free trade zone which should
take place as soon as possible, he added.
The joint government commission for economic cooperation in
trade, agriculture, tourism, infrastructure and reconstruction
should be established very soon and it should start functioning in
April, Ducky said.
The Croatian Economy Minister Stern said that Slovakia was
chairing the Central European Free Trade Association (CEFTA) in
1996, adding that Croatia wanted to start talks with the CEFTA
members.
"I believe that the Slovakian delegation's visit will be very
successful and that it will strengthen the cooperation between the
two countries", Stern said.
