TUZLA, Feb 5 (Hina) - Staff-Sergeant Donald Allan Dugan, member of the reconnaissance unit in the 1st Battalion of the 1st Cavalry Unit, who was wounded by a mine explosion last Saturday, did not step on or in any other way activate
the mine, Colonel Robert Gaylord, IFOR spokesman for Sector North-East, told a press conference today.

Unit, who was wounded by a mine explosion last Saturday,
did not step on or in any other way activate the mine, Colonel
Robert Gaylord, IFOR spokesman for Sector North-East, told a press

The soldier, who was wounded at 3.45 pm near an IFOR check-
point in Gradacac, 40 km north of Tuzla, died during transportation
to the U.S. military hospital in Zupanja.
Circumstances under which the mine had been activated were
still unknown, Gaylord said, adding that the IFOR units, which were
investigating the case, should have first results within 24 hours.
