ZAGREB, Feb 1 (Hina) - The Head Deputy of the European Union High
Commissioner for former Yugoslavia, Michael Steiner, said he
received President Tudjman's support for the dissolution of the
Croatian Republic of Herzeg-Bosnia and integration of its
structures into the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina. #L#
Steiner, who was received by Croatian President Franjo Tudjman
in Zagreb today, especially stressed the need for good functioning
of the Federation as well as of the central Bosnian government,
describing it as an important step forward in the implementation of
the Dayton peace agreement.
He said that President Tudjman stressed he agreed with the
principles of the Dayton agreement on the Federation of Bosnia-
Herzegovina. There was division and establishment of two
governments on one side and dissolution of Herzeg-Bosnia and its
integration into the Federation on the other side, Steiner said. He
described his meeting with President Tudjman as very successful.
The establishment of cantons was the next step in Bosnia-
Herzegovina, Steiner announced.
He greeted Croatia's decision to send police forces to Mostar
and help solve the problem in the city, stressing the need for full
support for Hans Koschnik's efforts in bringing life in the city
back to normal.
