(Sabor) welcomed with rapturous applause a speech on the situation
in the Croatian state and nation in 1995, delivered today by
Croatian President Franjo Tudjman. #L#
Parliament Speaker Vlatko Pavletic thanked President Tudjman
for clear guidelines in the report and closed the joint session of
both Parliament houses.
President Tudjman spoke about the five-year period of
Croatian independence, describing the year of 1995 as a year of
historic events.
Speaking about important tasks of the Croatian state policy in
this year, President Tudjman judged that there were all necessary
preconditions for new achievements in the general, economic and
cultural development of the country as well as for the
strengthening of the international position of the independent,
sovereign and democratic Croatian state.
After the session was over, President Tudjman attended a
reception in the Parliament building.
